Award-winning composer Dana Leong leads a quartet of cello, tabla, sitar, and electronics for an entrancing sundown concert in the breathtaking New Museum Sky Room, exploring the healing power of meditative sounds from different traditions joining forces in a union towards oneness with the earth.
Hailing from Japan, China, Haiti, and India – all countries recently affected by earthquakes, also known as “tectonic disruptions” – the quartet musicians of Tektonik come together in a unique collaboration to remind us of our shared destiny and of the need for our compassionate stewardship of Mother Earth. Contemplation, harmony, and healing will meld with the setting sun over the Manhattan skyline.
