Partners in Education: Dana Leong & Yamaha

Dana Leong has been partnering with Yamaha to present community workshops and unique programs that highlight not only music education, but a variety of topics including Diversity and Urban Culture, Artists as Entrepreneurs, and Composing and Performing With Laptop. Yamaha generously provides financial support for this workshops, and also custom-made Dana’s electric cello, which he designed with Yamaha’s team in Japan.

Dana Leong conducts on ESPN

Back in November, Dana Leong was asked to arrange and conduct music for ESPN’s tribute to NASCAR racer Jimmie Johnson.  An ensemble compromised of the hottest New York string players was put together by Dana, and the program, combining elements of classical music and car racing, was shot and aired exclusively on the sports channel.

JUSTIN BUA’s Legends of Hip-Hop Tour

Dana Leong made a surprise guest appearance at artist JUSTIN BUA‘s The Legends of Hip-Hop Tour – a unique celebration of Hip Hop culture with Justin BUA’s art exhibit, educational seminar, panel discussion featuring EVITAN: Dres (Black Sheep) and Jarobi (Tribe Called Quest), and book signing, plus special guests and interactive Hip Hop experiences.
